JOB SUMMARY:
Bookkeeper - Morningside, Durban

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client in Durban is looking for a responsible, reliable junior candidate with a relevant qualification to join their team. They will be responsible for:

Processing client’s financial information on various accounting and other software packages.
On & offsite processing of clients accounting information (cashbook, journals, VAT etc.)
Bank, creditors, debtors & other reconciliations
Recording client’s payroll on manual schedules
Processing monthly depreciation, accruals, and other journals
Monitoring client inventory and fixed assets registers
Preparation, analysis, and interpretation of monthly management accounts
To prepare budgets and cash flows for clients
VAT & provisional tax calculations
Preparation of Audit packs for auditors
Completion and submission of company (IT14), individual (IT12) and Trust income tax returns
Drafting of Annual Financial Statements
Completion and submission of certain statutory returns
Submissions of various documents to SARS and other bodies
Liaising with clients, SARS and various other bodies
If required, the collection/delivery of certain documentation
General administration
Filing
Other related reasonable tasks that will arise from time to time
Ad-hoc Support to payroll in the following areas:
- Processing client’s payroll on Pastel Payroll
- Recording client’s payroll on manual schedules
- Clients UIF Registrations and employee details
- Completion and submission of WCC, UIF, Tax etc. Registrations
- Bargaining Council returns and submissions
- Completion of WCC returns
- Monthly preparation & submission of PAYE returns for clients
- Monthly submission of UIF returns
- PAYE Reconciliation and issuing of IRP5’S on Easy file
- Application for Tax Directives
