Bookkeeper / Accountant (Automotive Dealership)

SUMMARY:
Our client, a well-established automotive dealership in Rustenburg, is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper / Accountant to join their finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the dealership's day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting the Financial Manager in delivering an efficient finance function.

POSITION INFO:
Description: Perform full bookkeeping functions up to Trial Balance. Process and reconcile cashbooks, bank accounts, and general ledger accounts. Prepare and process journals. Reconcile debtor and creditor control accounts. Process supplier invoices and payments. Perform customer account reconciliations. Reconcile vehicle stock, floorplan, and manufacturer accounts. Maintain asset registers and process depreciation journals. Assist with month-end and year-end financial procedures. Prepare VAT reconciliations and assist with VAT submissions. Process accruals and prepayments. Assist with management accounts and financial reporting. Ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls. Requirements: Grade 12 (Matric). Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Bookkeeping, or a related qualification will be advantageous. Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role within an automotive dealership. Solid understanding of dealership accounting processes. Experience working on Autoline (Keyloop) DMS is essential. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting. Experience with VAT, reconciliations, and month-end procedures. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel. Valid driver's licence. Please note only candidates that meet the minimum requirements will be considered.
