Bookkeeper - Fixed Term Contract

POSITION INFO:

Our client is based in Germiston and looking for a Bookkeeper for a 4-month maternity leave contract. Available immediately.

1 - 2 years bookkeeping experience required.

Own transport essential.

Responsibilities:

Record financial transactions, including income, expenses, purchases, and sales

Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries

Capture journal entries for routine transactions

Verify and reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts

Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities and provide necessary data for financial analysis and audits

Ensure accurate and timeous preparation of the VAT calculation

Prepare accurate and timeous intercompany recons

Maintain accurate and up to date Masterfile records

Maintain accurate and up-to-date cashbook records

Verify accuracy of invoices, purchase orders, and delivery receipts

Prepare payments and ensure timely processing

Generate customer invoices and statements

Post and allocate customer payments

Maintain organised and secure financial records

Continuously monitor existing processes with the aim of improving and recommending improvements to those processes and new processes

Comply with and assisting the company in complying with all relevant legislation and company policy’s, including POPI

Report matters of importance and business risks to your line manager as soon as reasonably possible

Accept responsibility as a data steward for the above areas of responsibility
