JOB SUMMARY:
Bookkeeper with strong MDA system experience

JOB DESCRIPTION:

East Rand

Reporting to: Portfolio Manager

The bookkeeper will handle various accounting, finance, and billing details for retail and commercial real estate. In this role, your responsibilities include overseeing accounts receivable and payable, overseeing the collection of rent payments, final account statements, audits, and more. You also assist in collecting delinquent rent deposits and sending information to collection agencies. Other duties include utilizing accounting software, MDA and to submit accurate records. Ultimately, the Bookkeeper’s responsibilities are to accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions of our company.

Proven bookkeeping experience
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and the MDA software
Proficiency in English and in MS Office
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
BS degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
Relative Years of Experience
Ability to work under pressure

Role and responsibilities:

Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
Verify that transactions are recorded on MDA in the correct entities and properties, supplier’s ledger, customer ledger and general ledger
Income statement, balance sheet and journals
Bring the books to the trial balance stage
Perform partial checks of the posting process
Enter data, maintain records and create reports and financial statements
Process accounts receivable/payable

Primary Objective

Ensuring effective recording of company financial accounts and records. To also track, manage, create, and maintain financial data.

Other assignments

To perform any reasonable assignment if and when requested to do so by management.

Working conditions

Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
