POSITION INFO:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant / Bookkeeper who completed SAIPA articles to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will support the accounting function by maintaining accurate financial records, performing reconciliations, and assisting with the preparation of management accounts and statutory returns.
Minimum Requirements
- Completed SAIPA Articles
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting / financial management (or similar)
- Proficient in Pastel, Xero, or similar accounting software
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping processes
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Process invoices, payments, receipts, and journals
- Perform bank, creditor, and debtor reconciliations
- Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of entries
- Assist with VAT, PAYE, and other SARS submissions
- Support audit preparations and respond to audit queries
- Maintain proper recordkeeping and filing of financial documents
- Liaise with clients regarding basic accounting and tax matters
- Perform ad hoc duties as required by senior accountants
