Brackenfell, Western Cape R40 000 - R60 000 a month ctc

Road and air Freight Business seeks an experienced Branch Manager. You will need min, + 10 Years of freight industry experience, 5-7 Years of branch manager experience, 3-5 Years of sales experience (or managing a sales department), a Diploma/ Degree in transport and logistics, a driver’s and very computer literate. You will need a sound knowledge of loading and off-loading principles, an understanding of safe workplace practices and requirements and excellent administration and organisational skills. Freightware knowledge will be advantageous. Excellent communication skills (proficient in English & Afrikaans)

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operations:

Manage and motivate the operations management team

Ensure the maximization of vehicle and process efficiencies

Handle operational queries and give guidance for solutions

Regular staff meetings with all operational employees

Resolve conflicts and disputes

Weekly measurement of "Key Cost" components

Ensure optimal utilization of line haul vehicles

Administration:

Authorize orders and invoices

Authorize credit notes, adjustments, and exceptions

Authorize HR-related issues such as leave, payroll, etc.

Regular discussions with regard to outstanding debtors’ payments

Provide guidance in resolving outstanding queries

Authorize new supplier detail forms

Freightware knowledge

Financial:

Manage and track the branch''s revenue and expenditure

Action areas of concern - Document action plan

Suppliers/3rd Parties

Authorize invoicing and spot-check against billing

Continuously strive to find the best "value for money"

Question usage vs doing it ourselves

Information:

Manage the accurate and timely capture of information into the various systems

Freightware knowledge

General:

Ensure adherence to all Financial, Operational, Human Resources, and Safety SOP

Manage the human resource management discipline

Attend to various branch-related issues and queries

Action requests by management timeously

Regular interaction with other branches

Give advice and/or help other managers with queries

Tackle issues on the ACTIVITY REPORT that do not get resolved

Calculate out-of-the-norm rates for special requests from customers
