SUMMARY:
Rapidly growing Supermarket discount chain operating in all provinces throughout South Africa, seeking an experienced Brand Communications Manager to join the Marketing team based in Westville.

POSITION INFO:
Job Deliverables:
Develop, continuously improve, and oversee all marketing and advertising communication strategies to ensure the right message is delivered for the Company’s brands. Identification and analysis of market related trends.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Implementation of creative brand strategy
  • Regular SWOT analysis on prevailing brand portfolio, and assistance with the brand audit strategy and implementation
  • Ongoing and unrelenting market research and analysis, conducted through a variety of mediums
  • Provide regular reports to Management/Teams on brand results/activities
  • Create concept for new confined labels
  • Create generic TV, radio and print adverts (adhoc)
  • Co- ordinate events, promotions, marketing projects and advertising campaigns for brands
  • Oversee media related promotional activities
  • Campaign promotional briefs/manuals
  • Participate in setting overall theme/strategy/look and feel for major promotions and brief and keep updated all relevant role players
  • Lead, manage, mentor and develop the advertising team
  • Identify opportunities for joint initiatives with third parties and propose to suppliers
  • Liaise with marketing team on new joint initiatives to be implemented
  • Proofing and coordinating of promotional activities/material
  • Visit stores with third party to help clarify /understand needs of market
  • Coordinate approach to store openings and launches
  • Brand entry campaign/ Brand road shows/media strategy to open new store
  • Identify and align business opportunities for collaboration between third parties and Company.
 
Education and skills
  • A minimum of a 3 year Degree in marketing/ branding with Honours
  • At least 5 years’ experience in an FMCG Marketing environment will be a key advantage and expectation
  • Computer literacy is essential
  • Exceptional excellent presentation skills
  • Must have a creative mind, take initiative and be a quick learner
  • Ability to communicate in Zulu and/or other African languages is essential
