The Role:

The purpose of this role is to create opportunities by leveraging the companyâ??s vast operational data. Using this data with predictive modelling you will have a direct impact on shaping tactical and strategic initiatives that drive our customer centric experiences. Data optimisation is all about integrating data with various processes and financial models to enhance or create new opportunities.

The Data Analyst is responsible for assisting the business in solving real business problems in marketing, credit risk, operations, and planning.

All handling of Pharmaceutical Goods and Medical devices must be in accordance with the Operational requirements of the Business and the Regulatory requirements of the relevant Statutory Bodies in South Africa as per the Medicines and Related Substances Act 101 of 1965 (as amended)

• Progressive knowledge of processes and standards
• Experience or training in network modelling advantageous
• Knowledge of data analytics
• Knowledge of BI Tools and decision support concepts
• Knowledge of Microsoft Enterprise BI and related products
• Relevant industry experience (Desirable)
• Good Distribution Practice Training
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Attention to detail
• Strategic planning and engineering skills
• Advanced MS Office
• Mathematical and organisation skills

The role takes a hands-on approach to examining internal and external data to help improve revenue generation, reduce costs and enhance operational performance through data analysis. This role is essential to support opportunities by increasing the level of data science applied to its business practices and customer experiences.

General Accountabilities

• Provide support to all operations requests
• Analyse engineering activities for internal and external departments

Data Extraction

• Translate, merge, clean and/or map data into conceptual, logical and physical data models

Data and Analytical Presentation

• Data presentation designed to demonstrate conclusions gained from analysing data
• Research and offer suggestions pro-actively on data and end-result presentation
• Develop graphs, reports, and presentations of project results
• Perform basic statistical analyses for projects and reports
• Create and present quality dashboards
• Generate routine and ad hoc report

Data and Analytical Recommendations

• Provide insight into business problems with pro-active recommendations on decisions and future analytical projects
• Deliver analytical insights to a bigger audience with the intention of driving strategy
• Document, implement, maintain and recommend operating methods to improve data-processing, distribution, data flow, collection and database procedures
• Define future data migration requirements, gathering, validating and documenting data requirements
• Identify, develop, and document data standardization, data enrichment operations, data validations, data security requirements, and data exception handling processes
• Operate in a safe manner complying with all Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements to ensure your own safety and the safety of others

Perform other duties as and when requested, by Department Head or Manager within own area of abilities and responsibilities.

Compliance with GDP guidelines as per South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA).

• Self-starter capable of working independently
• Internal locus of control with high performance standards
• Ability to effectively communicate and translate analytics for broader audiences in an understandable and compelling manner
• Strong in applied analytics using empirical data to support decision recommendations

• Grade 12
• Degree in Industrial Engineering or related field required
• Code 08 driverâ??s licence
