POSITION INFO:
Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Controller to join their team based in Johannesburg East. This role plays a critical part in supporting Country Management and the Managing Director by providing objective insights and strategic guidance based on site performance. The Business Controller will act as a key business partner, delivering comprehensive financial support to operations and driving performance-based decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and submit rolling forecasts for review and approval by business leadership and regional or group management.
Optimize processes related to work-in-progress (WIP) estimations and gross profit analysis.
Serve as the primary liaison between the Regional Shared Service Centre and operational teams.
Champion working capital improvement initiatives in partnership with the business.
Prepare and present internal management reports (utilizing SAP BPC and TMS), including detailed commentary and variance analysis on key events and monthly performance.
Conduct site performance analysis and recommend strategic initiatives to enhance profitability.
Lead and coordinate the budgeting process in collaboration with the business, preparing P&L budgets using SAP BPC tools.

Requirements:

Qualified CA(SA) or CIMA
4–6 years’ experience in financial control, reporting, and business partnering (preferred)
Proficient in Advanced Excel and SAP
Industry experience in logistics, freight, transport, or supply chain is essential
Strong knowledge of financial controlling, reporting, and foreign currency (including translations and revaluations)
Demonstrated ability to prepare and analyze financial statements
Experience in a Shared Services environment, especially in finance and credit functions, would be advantageous
Must be confident in engaging with stakeholders across various managerial levels within the organization
