Business Developer (Education Sector)

SUMMARY:
Our client provides online teacher professional development courses to primary and high school
teachers. Courses primarily focus on Integrating Technologies in Teaching and Learning for
the different subjects offered in schools.

Our client's Business Developer works in this space, working on one hand with clients who
provide funding for teachers to enrol in the courses, and on the other hand working with
teachers to enrol them into the courses and help them finish successfully. The business
developer works closely with the marketing team leader to implement company's marketing
strategy when marketing courses to clients. As such, the role entails communicating with
schools, education department officials, NGO staff and funders. A professional and
respectful tone is required in these conversations.

POSITION INFO:
Key Performance Areas

● Implement marketing of courses from the company's marketing strategy and working
closely with the marketing team leader
● Meet with prospective clients online (or in person if this becomes necessary) to
present the company's courses to them with the goal of signing teachers up for courses
● Manage and/or provide administrative support to recruit teachers for courses
● Manage the enrolment process to load teachers onto the company's Learner Management
System (LMS)
● Manage the onboarding process of users to the LMS
● Manage and/or provide administrative support during course implementations
including workflow and scheduling, communication with new and existing users, and
administrative tasks that may become required
● Implement the company's communication strategy
● Reporting
● General administrative support as may be required

The position can roughly be summarised as follows:

Job Requirements:

● Degree or equivalent qualification in business development and/or marketing or
related field
● Experience in business development of 3-5 years with written and/or contactable
references
● Adept at using online communication media / tools / resources and working with
cloud drives
● English home-language speaker and the ability to speak other South African
languages is an advantage
● Background knowledge of and experience working in the education sector is an
advantage
● Strong team player
● Self-driven and able to work remotely and in face-to-face space.
● Adept at self-monitoring and self-regulating work environment
● Happy, bubbly personality
