JOB DESCRIPTION:

Business Development Actuary

Business Development

Develop symmetric partnerships with potential new clients, design innovative distribution and product solutions, prepare and conduct presentations;
Cultivate relationships with existing clients;
Liaise with the Pricing unit to ensure that all pricing for new business meets internal profitability standards and produce quotations in a timely manner;
Liaise with the Legal unit to ensure all due diligence and other legal requirements are met;
Conclude all treaties consistent with internal standards

Business Management

Ensure that client accounts are up-to-date and accurate;
Liaise with the Technical Account unit to ensure that outstanding accounts and data are followed up on a regular basis;
Liaise with the Corporate Actuarial unit to regularly review treaties open for new business and to encode treaties accurately;
Develop client reports and treaty summaries for all existing client treaties;
Conclude all addenda to treaties as and when required and update records and keep relevant business units informed;
Monitor performance at a treaty level in order to identify concerns and action as needed

Reporting

Consolidate commentary pertaining the client’s performance for assigned clients to the Head of Business Acquisition & Development on a monthly basis;
Collate information and provide input and commentary for assigend clients for Exco and quarterly board meetings as required

Qualified or nearly qualified Actuary
MS Word and Excel – Advanced level
MS PowerPoint – Intermediate
MS Outlook – Intermediate 21.7eh
