SUMMARY:
A leading player in the industrial gas and chemical sector is seeking a commercially driven Business Development Engineer to identify and develop large-scale on-site project opportunities within mining, metals, and chemical environments.

POSITION INFO:
This role focuses on driving Sale of Gas (SOG) and Sale of Equipment (SOE) opportunities, from initial prospecting through to contract negotiation and project execution. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing proposals, leading tender processes, and managing long-term client contracts while ensuring sustainable business growth. This is a strategic, client-facing role requiring strong commercial acumen and the ability to engage at multiple stakeholder levels.

Education:

BSc Chemical Engineering or equivalent
MBA advantageous

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a commercial or sales engineering role
Strong exposure to mining, metals, or chemical industries
Proven ability in prospecting, proposal development, and tendering processes
Experience with contract negotiation and commercial project execution
Ability to manage long-term client relationships and service agreements
Strong networking, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level)
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
