Business Development Executive (Remote) - Calling & Marketing Join an established UK electrical contracting business in a newly created role focused on business development and marketing execution. Remote | South Africa | UK Hours (09:00 - 18:00 SA Time) | R20,000 - R28,000 + Commission ABOUT OUR CLIENT Our client is an established electrical contracting business based in Woking, Surrey, trading since 1999. They specialise in compliance work, including EICRs, remedial works, and certification services for letting agents and social housing providers across Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire, West London, and South West London. The business holds five active industry accreditations and operates a full office function covering scheduling, quoting, and certification. They are now investing in dedicated business development through the introduction of this new full-time remote role. THE ROLE: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE This role is responsible for two key areas in equal measure: winning new business and executing marketing activities. The successful candidate will systematically build relationships with letting agents and social housing providers to generate new business opportunities while ensuring consistent marketing outreach and engagement with both prospects and existing clients. The role combines outbound business development, marketing execution, and account nurturing to support business growth and maintain strong client relationships. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Work through the company's letting agent and social housing database systematically, postcode area by postcode area. • Make outbound calls to property managers and procurement\/compliance teams to introduce services, understand compliance requirements, and generate new business opportunities. • Build and maintain relationships with prospects through professional and consultative communication. • Log all calls, contacts, and outcomes accurately within company systems. • Respond to inbound enquiries within one hour. • Pass qualified opportunities to the scheduling and QS teams for quotation. • Conduct consistent follow-up activity to develop and convert opportunities. • Plan and execute email marketing campaigns using mail-merge processes and email-finding tools. • Write professional subject lines and email opening content to improve engagement. • Coordinate branded direct-mail and gift-bag campaigns and track follow-up activities. • Maintain and manage a marketing calendar to ensure regular and seasonal outreach activities are delivered on schedule. • Maintain the company's social and online presence in line with brand guidelines and external marketing direction. • Track campaign performance, including open rates, responses, and calls booked, and provide feedback on results. • Maintain regular contact with existing letting agent clients through check-in calls and follow-up activity. • Identify and re-engage inactive accounts before business levels decline further. • Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts, including additional branches, services, and introductions to new contacts. • Coordinate client retention initiatives including Christmas gifts, branded items, and birthday cards for key contacts. ABOUT YOU • Proven outbound calling or telesales experience, ideally within a B2B environment, with examples of relationships or accounts personally opened. • Hands-on marketing experience with responsibility for running email campaigns or outreach activities from start to finish. • Excellent spoken and written English. • Confident, resilient, and self-motivated. • Highly organised with the ability to manage a database, call schedule, and marketing calendar simultaneously. • Fast and reliable responder. • Comfortable using business software including email, spreadsheets, mail merge tools, and learning new systems quickly. • Experience selling into, or working with, UK letting agents, property managers, or social housing providers. • Familiarity with email-finding tools, campaign platforms, CRM systems, or job-management software. • Experience working remotely for a UK-based business and operating within UK business hours.
