JOB DESCRIPTION:

The company is looking for a high-performing Business Development Manager to meet our customer acquisition and
revenue growth targets by keeping our company competitive and innovative within the African market. The Business Development Manager will work closely with the Managing Director to grow the customer base and make the most of opportunities for new products, services and projects.

The person appointed will show capability and potential to build on a strong foundation of solid relationships with new clients and stakeholders. This role requires someone with the communication skills, confidence and drive to generate growth within a small
business. This is a hands-on role, and the Business Development Manager will be expected to create, manage and close their own pipeline of sales opportunities. The role is target driven, working towards monthly, quarterly and annual fiscal targets.

 

Key Accountability:

  • Manage the new department, including B2C & B2B initiatives.
  • Manage entire sales process including cold calling and developing territory business plans, forecasting, and account strategies.
  • Establishing a small sales team to assist achieve SD objectives.
  • Meeting with sales team to discuss telesales/sales strategies.
  • Implementing sales strategies.
  • Monitoring the performance of the sales team.
  • Setting weekly and monthly sales targets.
  • Maintaining customer relationships and partnerships.
  • Handling escalated customer complaints at director level.
  • Compiling and presenting sales reports.
  • Receive from Operations Manger: WPM & MIS reports from the MI Systems for appropriate staffing levels of consultants to include monitoring adherence to the scheduled breaks, lunches, and other off-phone activities.
  • Any other reasonable duties that management may from time-to-time request.
  • Meeting and pitching to potential and existing SD clients. 

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate degree in business, marketing, human resources, or similar field.
  • 5 - 8 years hands on experience in a sales development role, out of which min 3 years would be in a managerial position in a leading company.
  • Proven track record in sales development research and identifying new business opportunities - including new
    markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets.
  • Strong managerial and sales skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage team remotely.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to write and present reports and proposals.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong accountably and be a self starter.
