Business Development Manager - Construction

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client, based in the Johannesburg East Rand, is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager in the Construction Industry.

5 Years work experience as BDM role of which 3 - 5 years should be in a Complex Solutions Sales / Business Development role. Relevant Degree or Diploma

Responsibilities

· Effectively exploring alternatives and positions to reach mutually beneficial sales agreements that gain customers’ acceptance and commitment

· Demonstrating the traits, inclinations, and outlooks that characterize successful salespersons; exhibiting behavioural styles that facilitate adaptation to the demands of the sales role

· Developing sales solutions or taking courses of action that appropriately consider available facts, constraints, competitive circumstances, and probable consequences; clearly connecting solutions to business needs

· Adding customer equity by creating valued business partnerships with customers; proactively identifying business opportunities for the customer; conveying a firm understanding of the customer’s business and political drivers

· Demonstrating zeal for new information, knowledge, and experiences; regularly seeking and capitalizing on learning opportunities; quickly assimilating and applying new information

· Establishing courses of action for self and others to ensure that work is completed efficiently

· Regularly traveling away from the office (e.g., flying, driving) to conduct business

· Working in situations involving different cultures/languages and responding to the ambiguity of unexpected or unfamiliar approaches

· Developing growth strategies and plans

· Managing and retaining relationships with existing clients

· Increasing client base

· Having an in-depth knowledge of business products and value proposition

· Writing business proposals

· Negotiating with stakeholders

· Identifying and mapping business strengths and customer needs

· Researching business opportunities and viable income streams

· Following industry trends locally and internationally

· Drafting and reviewing contracts

· Reporting on successes and areas needing improvement
