JOB SUMMARY:
My client, one of SA’s top security solution companies is seeking to employ an industry specific Business Development Specialist to join their team in Johannesburg. You will successfully develop strong relationships with internal and external customers and thoroughly understand the customers’ business needs in order to drive execution and support the business to identify opportunities to profitably grow. The candidate will support the Profit/Loss SaaS growth initiative and South Africa Leaders for all businesses. Drives program execution and business growth in alignment with the product strategy.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities:
  • Achieves assigned business objectives and customer commitments including financial (revenue, gross margin, OI and cash), operational (delivery, quality), and technical (product reliability) goals.
  • Preparing business proposals/quotations/tender documentation and offers, on the basis of the needs identified, tender requirements whilst coordinating information with the sales consultant and the technical and production department/s.
  • Offer sales assistance and support the senior BDM on a daily basis.
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status. Provide such VOC to the engineering team for future NPI needs.
  • Timely entering and updating of the opportunities on to the CRM.
  • Assist with and perform product demonstrations and presentations as required.
  • Be the go to person and provide trainings to South Africa external [SIs, Installers, Consultants, OEMs] and Internal team stake holders.
  • Understand the company product value proposition and able to articulate it. Work with various stake holders to generate the demand for offering.
  • Segment the market by identifying the verticals of interest and customers to focus.
  • Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the management team.
  • Designing and implementing a strategic sales plan that expands company’s customer base and ensures its strong presence.
  • Work closely with marketing team to devise and launch the marketing campaigns for the selected verticals and close the leads generated.
  • Develop recurring revenue growth.
  • Attend trade exhibitions and shows as required and take lead in setting up the booths as required.
  • Develop Management Operating System (MOS) to coordinate functional activities in support of business objectives.
Requirements:
  • >10 years’ experience in Video and Security industry: CCTV, Radar, VMS and UAV would be highly advantageous.
  • Good knowledge of Go To market and key players.
  • Strong technical background.
  • Strong Relationship with Integrators and promoting integrated Security Solutions.
  • Experience in Perimeter Security is a plus.
  • Experience of managing tender responses, processes, estimates and business proposals.
  • Experience in security manufacturing sales, account management, developing new business and building and maintaining working relationships (externally and internally)
  • Previous experience selling thermal imaging cameras and optical solutions.
  • Excellent written, mathematics, communication, and presentation abilities.
  • Excellent communications skills.
