SUMMARY:
Our client is looking for Business Intelligence & Data Analyst. 

To handle a range of data sources and with expertise in various research areas, provide unique detail into evolving attitudes and behaviours of today’s music consumers and our artists’ audiences. Deliver actionable insights that feed into strategy, operations, and promote revenue optimisation. Liaising with a network of insight specialists in different countries, with a centralised research infrastructure.

POSITION INFO:

Responsibilities

• Understand business needs and create reports / custom analyses to support business goals
• Be an expert in our extensive data lake and understand how it could serve end users
• Perform analysis on large sets of structured commercial data daily, to identify actionable recommendations for the business and for artists.
• Ability to write well structured, performance SQL using advanced SQL techniques (e.g. Window Functions where appropriate.)
• Designs, codes, debugs, tests, documents, and supports server-based applications with established business requirements and specifications to deliver the highest possible value to the business.
• Shape the business’ data infrastructure, inclusive of data-warehousing, reporting, and analytics platforms.
• Keep regular maintenance and upgrade of data warehouse servers.
• Take broad business questions, develop engaging briefs, and translate them into a clearly structured approach.
• Drive projects from start to finish defining the data needed, conduct the analysis, and come up with conclusive answers and specific strategic recommendations.
• Come up with new ways to look at data, creating new frameworks of data analysis and interpretation for the business. Innovate on an ongoing basis.
• Apply contextual knowledge about artists and the music industry in your commercial data analysis and interpretation.
• Understand and communicate the implications of the changes in the music landscape in the data analysis interpretation.
• Work closely with the Data / Analytics teams in our global offices, ensuring you are up-to-date and involved with the data analysis initiatives developed across the business.
• Responsible for developing KPIs within the business for the purpose of identifying trends and evaluating the success of the business’s initiatives.
• Identifies, communicates, and endeavors to resolve data gaps that impact the fulfillment of the business’s functional requirements.

Education and Experience

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar
• Honours Degree is advantageous
• At least 5+ years of experience in a similar data analyst/strategist role, preferably in an entertainment/ tech company.
• Experience with hands-on statistical modelling
• 1 years’ experience with Tableau, DOMO, Google Data Studio or any other BI platform
• Experience with column storage databases in general, and particularly Google BigQuery, would be an advantage. An understanding of performance tuning is desirable
• Experience in creating decks and presentations to deliver your findings is beneficial
