SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking to appoint a BI Engineer that will be responsible for researching and analysing company data to support statistical analysis by the business.

POSITION INFO:

Experience with BI platforms is essential. The role requires strong analytical and communication skills and have business acumen and problem-solving aptitude.

The role gathers requirements from internal stakeholders and develops reports and dashboards. This presents the data in ways that can be easily evaluated. The job duties require strong computer skills and an understanding of how databases work.

Essential Skills and Experience

Proven experience as a BI Engineer or BI Developer
Automotive industry experience is preferred
Background in data warehouse design, dimensional modelling and data mining
In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing and ETL framework
Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. ZapBI)
Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL, SSRS and SQL SSIS
Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative
Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude that enjoys working with and mining data
Being a self-starter and the ability to work unsupervised is essential

Key Role Responsibilities

Translate business needs to technical specifications
Design, build and deploy BI solutions (e.g., reporting tools)
Maintain and support data analytics platforms (e.g., SSRS Reporting Services, ZAP BI Datahub, Grafana Dashboards)
Create tools to store data (e.g., OLAP cubes, staging tables, views, stored procedures)
Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting
Evaluate and improve existing BI systems
Collaborate with teams to integrate systems
Develop and execute database queries and conduct analyses
Create visualizations and reports for requested projects
Develop and update technical documentation
