Business Intelligence Officer (Assistant)

Our client in the Health Care sector is looking for a young, dynamic person to join their team. You will need to be a strategic thinker, have good problem-solving skills with great communication skills.. You will perform a variety of critical tasks to support the day-to-day operations of the field-based staff.

Are you Tech savvy, with ability to learn new software?. Do you have experience building and improving operational systems?

Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Contribute to development objectives and implement impact assessment strategy for Health Programmes.
• Data management– data collection (in the form of app development, updating and deployment), analysis, weekly reporting (via dashboards), and remote support of teams who collect data in the field
• Find and prioritize areas of focus for rigorous assessment of impact; confirm with internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist in measurement and evaluation; develop plan and execute.
• Support Field-based teams to conduct studies that not only result in important impact findings but also strengthen relationships and benefits from partnering with the division.
• Assist in development of workplans, protocols and timelines
• Facilitate oversight of implementation and reporting.
• Generate relevant insights from data. (Using Excel and PowerBI)
• Maintain and update existing data.
• Support multiple projects for onboarding onto support systems (data collection apps and online platforms)
• Troubleshoot common issues with data collection apps
• Create survey forms using XLS forms in the ODK collect environment based on health programme needs.
• Generate weekly reporting of field staff activities based on data collected.
• Work with mobile technology; and support teams to use mobile technology (mainly via remote engagements with teams deployed in the field).

• Set up milestones, ensure meaningful work is incorporated, implementation is timely and complete, and the outcomes are achieved and leveraged.

Minimum requirements/Qualification:

• Qualification/Graduate degree (MPH, social sciences, international studies, finance, statistics, or equivalents) preferred
• 2-5 years of postgraduate work experience in NGO, government and/or corporation or private foundation environments
• Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
• PowerBI and Sequel
• Ability to analyse complex multi-faceted programmes/ projects.
• Ability to travel when needed.
• Experience in health– particularly in the HIV and TB space (advantageous).
