SUMMARY:
Job Title:  Business Intelligence Specialist
Location:  Irene in Centurion, Pretoria East
Remuneration: Negotiable depending on work experience

We are looking for a Business Intelligence Specialist. This position will be a 6-month fixed-term contract role based in Pretoria East. 

 
Role Purpose
The role exists to convert operational and external data into reliable, secure, and actionable business intelligence that improves decision-making, supports growth, strengthens client value, and creates competitive advantage.
The Business Intelligence Specialist owns the technical BI environment required to make that possible and is responsible for developing, maintaining and continuously improving the Microsoft Power BI/ Fabric capability used across the organisation.

This is not simply a reporting or dashboard-development role. The successful candidate must combine strong technical capability with business judgement: understanding what the data means, identifying what matters, proactively finding trends and opportunities, and translating complex information into practical intelligence for decision-makers.

• Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science or a related discipline;
• Microsoft PL-300;
• Microsoft DP-600;
• other relevant Microsoft data or BI certifications.

• Power BI solutions personally designed and implemented;
• complex SQL and data integration work;
• BI data architecture or warehouse structures developed;
• role-based security implemented;
• deployment and production environments managed;
• data-quality problems identified and resolved;
• technically reliable dashboards produced;
• meaningful insights generated from data; and
• BI solutions that materially improved a business outcome.
