    The Role:

    Our client in the banking industry is looking for a Business Manager for a 6 month contract position. 

    • Must be available immediately

     

    • Ensure adequate and effective executive oversight and governance of group technology
    • Planning, preparation and monitoring
    • Contribute to the ambitions and the management of initiatives (identify opportunities for effective ways of work which result in sustainable savings whilst achieving governance objectives and goals)
    • Ad-hoc governance related projects
      • Collaborated with the relevant stakeholders in order to complete projects as allocated by the Head of group Technology Governance.
    • Provide efficient and effective contingency service in the absence of other support officers within the group Technology governance office; and Group documentation unit
    • Representative to the group documentation unit (GDU) working group for group technology
    • Contribute to the achievement of the GDU objectives
    Skills and Experience:
    • Execution of allocated group Technology (GT) governance related activities as allocated by the Head of GT governance. Actively playing a Committee Secretarial and Governance Specialist role which includes (but is not limited to)
    • Actively playing a supervisory role in the co-ordination of requests and the execution of requirements of the Office of the Registrar of Banks at the SARB
    • Implementation and effective maintenance of the minimum Technology standards lifecycle and process within group Technology
    • Development, implementation and maintenance of the SBG Technology toolbox
    • Management of engagements with any key stakeholders and third-party service providers
    • Secretarial services for allocated group Technology governance committees, as follows:
      • Develop, implement and maintain committee mandates for approval by the Head of group Technology Governance, the committee chairperson and committee;
      • Ensure the appropriate frequency and membership of the committee;
      • Support committee chairperson/s in ensuring the smooth functioning and effective management of their committee forums
    • Act as an information and reference of communication and correspondence for the chairperson/s and committee members (clarifying past practice and decisions, confirming legal requirements, and retrieving relevant documentation)
    • Maintain effective records and administration
    • Draft agendas for approval by the committee chairperson
    • Collate and ensure the timely distribution of the meeting documentation;
    • Ensure meetings are effectively organised and minuted
    • Attend the meetings, ensure that a quorum is present, transcribe minutes that accurately depict meeting proceedings, decisions taken, approvals, matters arising, etc.
    • Ensure that the committees operate in terms of their mandates; Conduct an annual mandate and committee performance review
    • Uphold the legal requirements of governing documents and company law (where relevant)
