Business Systems Analyst - Cape town - EE/AA

SUMMARY:
Calling all Business Systems Analysts with NAV Systems Experience.

POSITION INFO:

My client a leading and well know FMCG company requires a competent and experienced Business Systems Analyst to join their team.

This position is reporting to the Head of IT.

JOB PURPOSE & DIMENSION:

Understands the role of IT systems in an organization and determines the best technologies to increase an organization’s efficiency and effectiveness.

Optimize business processes through the use of workflow and automation technologies.

Oversees the installation and configuration of systems to customize them to fit the organization’s needs.

Tests systems and train organization on how to use systems.

Develops and documents business objectives, data requirements, processing documentation and specifications

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure that the requirements set by the business are captured and documented correctly before any solutions are developed.

Support MS Dynamics NAV users on the Finance Modules, facilitating enhancements where necessary.

Solving Business requirements through the use of current or new best of breed applications, compiling business cases for 3rd parties to meet this need where applicable.

Maintenance and growth of all internal business systems.

Build effective relationships with clients (mostly internal) to develop joint vision for projects

Manage Client expectations through careful and proactive communications regarding requirements and changes

Use negotiation skills to build final consensus on a common set of requirements from all stakeholders

Ensure that Stakeholders understand implications of their decisions, and provide options and alternatives when necessary

Main Activities:

Determine operational objectives by analysing business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.

Design new computer systems by analysing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications.

Develop an understanding of how present and future business needs will impact solutions.

Improve systems by studying current practices; designing modifications.

Support Finance Department on current ERP system

Recommend controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures.

Apply automation where applicable.

Provide references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation; providing help desk support; training users on relevant systems.

Maintain user confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.

Prepare technical reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information and trends.

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

QUALIFICATION & EXPEREINCE:

Relevant Bachelor’s degree or similar financial qualification with relevant certifications

At least 5 years MS Dynamics NAV systems experience

Office 365 / SharePoint Online / Azure experience

SA Citizens only

Must be Criminal Clear

A candidate with a Finance degree/qualification who has experience in Financial Accounting but has then moved onto working on Financial ERP systems and wants to work on Systems

Must have financial accounting knowledge due to the fact that they will be Systems Analyst working with senior finance staff and advising them on the NAV system.

Must be able to deal with Management and senior levels of staff to be able to deliver the value ito the above.

SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Good verbal and communication skills, including active listening skills

Well organised with understanding of business processes and systems

Ability to work independently and in a team

Strong analytical skills

Strong computer literacy in relevant applications

Solid understanding of planning / project principles, tools and techniques

Good understanding of Database design and structures

Experience in Workflow and automation

Experience in SQL scripting

Solid experience in BI and Reporting Tools

Experience in ERP a definite plus
