Business development manager

A Business Development Manager is responsible for helping organizations obtain better brand recognition and financial growth. They coordinate with company executives and sales marketing professionals to review current market trends in order to propose new business ideas that can improve revenue margins.

Responsibilities:

• Identify opportunities and develop new business through proactive strategy and implementation to 
  ensure that sales targets are met. 
• Build and maintain strong long-lasting client relationships through a trusted-advisor consultative 
  relationship.
• Cold Calling, Prospecting and Networking to attend to 10 new business customers per week
• Maintain good knowledge of the industry in terms of customer requirements and industry trends.
• Collaborate with the technical team to identify and grow opportunities.
• Work with product and sales team to deliver high quality customer solutions and proposals.
• Prospecting and presentations and proposals to potential customers
• Managing the customer journey (customer relationship management)
• Ability to scope customized solutions to suit customer needs
• Solution selling of key products to new customers

Sales planning 

• Develops a business plan that supports the overall strategy
• Develop Sales strategy that ensures attainment of your company sales goals
• Coordinate development of action plans to penetrate new markets and industries
• Attend Customer/Industry events and road shows to expand knowledge of the industry
• Managing the various sales channels; lead feeder, sales navigator, website inquiries, CRM system 
• Develop a business development planner budget
• Attending initial discussions with prospective strategic clients
• Strategically aligning with new partners to further promote the company 

Research/lead generation 

• Lead generation through research by creating/populating a list of potential leads within the relevant markets
• Harvesting leads from the database
• Vetting all leads received
