C/C++ SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS - Cape Town Office based (Century City)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Roles & Outcomes:

vC/C++ Programming and Integration

vSystems Design, Documentation / Technical Authoring

vProblem Solving & Project Management

vResearch / Investigations & Service Level Monitoring

vSystems Testing & User Support

vThe ability to quickly create advanced software solutions that are relatively free from defect and are easily maintained

vCreate Firmware for custom hardware designs

vCode versioning

vConsulting with internal stakeholders to determine the scope of software development projects

vCollaborating with the software development team on application design and development

vDeveloping software and overseeing the deployment of applications across platforms

vPerforming diagnostic tests and debugging procedures

vCreating end-user application feedback channels

vOptimizing software by performing maintenance, updates, and upgrades

vKeeping up to date with C++ standards and advancements in application development

vResolve issues proactively to deliver high quality products

Education & Qualifications:

vMatric certificate.

vAt least 1 year of electronic technician experience, or appropriate diploma qualification.

vExcellent work ethics, punctual, enthusiastic and willing to learn.

vFluent in spoken and written English.

vTeam player with the ability to work in small teams.

Experience:

v4+ years C / C++ development experience.

vNetwork programming skills essential.

vKnowledge of Best Practices.

vProficiency in C++ compliant languages such as C, Java, and Python.

vExtensive experience in deploying software across a variety of platforms and operating systems.

vExperience with algorithms/data structures knowledge.

vGood OOP knowledge.

vSoftware development lifecycle experience.

vExperience with Windows and LINUX. Good understanding of TCP/IP protocol.

vCoordination with other developers for cross-functional requirements implementation and tests.

Preference will be given to candidates demonstrating competency in the following:

vExperience with managing large long-term projects mostly unaided

vReal-time multimedia and embedded development experience

vOSI layer 2 experience, specifically AVB and its related protocols
