CFO

SUMMARY:
Our client, who offers accessible learning solutions in the classroom, workplace, home or college, is looking for a CFO to join their team. Based in Centurion. This role reports into the CEO.

Key Performance Areas 

Strategic leadership

• Assist CEO and board of directors in defining overall business vision and strategy, and coordinate implementation thereof to ensure learner growth, revenue and profit growth, and improved ROI.
• Understand and continuously improve the business model.
• Interact with the CEO and other Executives to ensure effective functioning of the company.

Function-specific: Finance

• Establish and direct reporting and analyses used to present performance and financial data.
• Direct the budgeting process and subsequent implementation to ensure efficient allocation of available resources to achieve the company’s stated objectives for a financial period
• Direct preparation and reporting of all required information for the annual audit and liaise with the audit committee and the external auditors as necessary
• Develop, implement, and monitor compliance with internal financial, accounting and risk management policies and procedures
• Assist board/EXCO/internal stakeholders with any finance/governance-related queries
• Establish and direct scalable low cost and efficient accounting processes, specifically wrt the following functions:
• Accounts receivable
• Accounts payable
• General ledger processing

Function-specific: Legal and governance

• Ensure that all statutory and legal requirements of the organization are met
• Oversee and supervise administrative function w.r.t. property/facility management, safety of the work environment, and provision of furnishings and equipment necessary for effective operations
• Oversee the management of all leases, contracts and other financial commitments
• Monitor all legislation relevant to the organization to ensure that the organization is compliant

Business development

• Understand the education market, including trends and competitors.
• Increase positive visibility of the company in the education sector.
• Market the company''s products and services to existing and potential clients.
• Establish relationships with and provide support to clients.
• Establish relationships with external stakeholders.

Function-specific: Facilities management

• Manage all company facilities, including liaison with property owners and letting agents, account and contract management, capacity planning, physical maintenance, and related matters

Team leadership and administration

• Manage and motivate staff, and address staff issues.
• Manage HR-related functions.
• Coordinate staff development and training
• Drive performance management, including disciplinary issues

General management

• Manage day-to-day processes, systems, tasks, projects, communication, and outputs of the department.
• Oversee budgeting process for the department, and manage ongoing budget vs actual expenses and income.
• Identify and manage applicable risks.
