CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO) - Tokai, Cape Town - R80,000 Per month Negotiable

Consulting company dedicated to designing and implementing climate change adaptation and mitigation projects for both public and private sectors. Their mission is to support vulnerable communities and ecosystems in adapting to a changing climate, while also catalysing large-scale investment in innovative mitigation initiatives. They have successfully worked on over 220 climate change adaptation and mitigation projects in more than 105 countries across Africa, Asia-Pacific, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

We are in search of a dynamic and energetic CEO to lead and grow the organisation. The CEO will be responsible for providing strategic direction, overseeing daily operations, managing the team, and ensuring the financial health of the company. Additionally, the CEO will play a critical role in business development, establishing partnerships, and driving the company’s innovation agenda.

Key responsibilities:
Provide strategic direction and leadership to the organization
Oversee daily operations and ensure the team is functioning effectively
Manage financial resources to ensure the sustainability of the organization
Lead business development efforts to secure new projects and establish strategic partnerships
Drive innovation in the company’s approach to climate change adaptation and mitigation
Represent the company at high-level meetings, conferences, and other events
Ensure the company maintains a high level of performance and achieves its targets
Manage the bidding process for new projects
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, both internal and external
Manage and lead the team to ensure a positive and productive work environment

Manage a young team of 40 learned people who have completed their Ph.D.’s, Honors and Masters and are now ready to go into the field and make a difference.

Qualifications:
A background and Degree in environmental science or a related field is preferred
At least 5-10 years of experience in a senior management position
Experience in a consulting environment, where time equals money
Experience in the bidding process is an advantage
Excellent communication skills
Excellent people management skills
Ability to work well under pressure and make decisions on the go
A positive, can-do attitude
A strong commitment to performance and getting things over the line
Attention to detail
