COMMERCIAL MANAGER - FOOD (AA/EE) - CAPE TOWN

SUMMARY:

This includes overall responsibility of managing third party partners for all products supplied by the company. The role includes managing negotiations, developing sales and promotional strategies, conducting channel and category reviews, and building relationships at all levels nationally.

The role reports to Head of National Sales.

POSITION INFO:
Job Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and drive the sales strategy for both branded and DOB products in alignment with
• The company’s strategic objectives
• Ensure achievement of customer and channel plans against set targets, including sales volumes, 
• pricing, and profit margin targets
• Assume accountability for the full scope of commercial interaction with each retail customer
• Conduct detailed business reviews and offer solutions in line with the customer’s objectives
• This includes systematically analyzing and reporting of sales results, expectations, market, competition, and trends to making proposals for improvement
• Coordinate all internal company’s resources required to achieve customer objectives including NPD projects, 
• marketing support and category management, resolution of customer complaints and queries and 
• efficient supply of products

• 5 to 10 years’ experience in a National Sales / Account Management role, preferably within the food 
• industry
• A Diploma or Degree qualification in Sales / Marketing
• An in-depth understanding of the sales retail environment and, have the ability to drive profitable high 
• growth opportunities in line with the customer strategy
• Previous Sales / Account Management experience at a national level
• High level of numeracy and computer skills
• Very strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
• Ability to build strong business relationships as all levels internally and externally
• Ability to travel
