POSITION INFO:

As Chief Operating Officer and as member of executive management the COO is responsible for maintaining and driving operational results within the company.  The COO works closely with the Chairman and Board of Directors as well as other senior management team members.  As one of the most critical and essential positions within an organization, the COO must be an effective leader and driven business person who can generate company growth, maintain key operational procedures, create new processes and ensure day to day operational excellence.

The COO provides leadership and strategic vision to the organization.  He / She will bring operational, managerial and administrative procedures, reporting structures and operation controls to the company.  The COO will effectively communicate and foster growth among the executive team and all employees.  This is a vital leadership role that will drive results, generate growth and increase the overall efficiency of the company.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide management to staff and leadership to the organisation that aligns with the company’s business plan and overall strategic vision.
  2. Assist executive team members in creating, growing and building a world class, industry leading organisation.
  3. Drive company results from both an operational and financial perspective working closely with the other key team members.
  4. Partner with the Financial Manager to achieve favorable financial results with respect to revenue, profitability, cash flow, acquisitions, systems, reporting, controls and tax compliance.
  5. Set challenging and realistic goals for growth, performance and profitability.
  6. Create effective measurement tools to gauge the efficiency and effectiveness of internal and external processes.
  7. Provide accurate and timely reports outlining the operational and financial condition of the company.
  8. Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes.
  9. Works with other managers on budgeting, forecasting and resource allocation as well as remuneration strategies to ensure staff retention and a happy workforce.
  10. Work closely with the senior management team to create, implement and roll out plans for operational processes, internal infrastructures, reporting systems and company policies all designed to foster growth, profitably and efficiencies within the company. 
  11. Motivate and encourage employees at all levels as one of the key leaders in the company including but not limited to professional staff and management level employees. 
  12. Forge strategic partnerships and relationships with landlords, hospital managers, vendors, banks, auditors and all other professional business relationships.
  13. Foster a growth oriented, positive and encouraging environment while keeping employees and management accountable to company policies, procedures and guidelines.

STRONG FINANCIAL ACUMEN

Desired Experience & Qualification

Bachelors degree in Finance - Hons and/or CA preferred

MBA/MBL from Top Business School Preferred

5-10 years of Executive level operational expereience required

5 Years at COO level is preferred

Exceptionla executive presence, business acumen and presentation skills

Budgeting and/or financial focused mindset

Excellent problem-solving skills

Team Player

Staff Management experience

Strong leadership skills

Peoples person
