POSITION INFO:
CSSD SUPERVISOR
East Rand, Johannesburg - Permanent
An acute private hospital in the East Rand is seeking an experienced CSSD Supervisor to manage a high-volume department supporting a busy theatre complex.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily CSSD operations, including decontamination, packing and sterilisation of surgical instruments
• Ensure compliance with infection control, SANC, and hospital standards
• Manage autoclaves, monitoring systems, and instrument traceability
• Lead and performance-manage CSSD staff
• Control departmental budget, stock, and equipment maintenance
• Support Theatre management with operational planning and CAPEX input
Minimum Requirements:
• Registered Nurse with Theatre experience
• Post-basic CSSD qualification
• Current SANC registration
• 2+ years’ supervisory experience in an acute hospital CSSD (large hospital exposure preferred)
• Strong knowledge of steam and low-temperature sterilisation systems
• Staff management and budget control experience
• Fully vaccinated
