SUMMARY:

CANDIDATE ATTORNEY – SECTIONAL TITLE LITIGATION

Location: Gauteng
Salary: R10,000 per month

A well-established legal practice is seeking a Candidate Attorney with meaningful practical exposure to sectional-title law and litigation to join their team.This is an excellent opportunity for a Candidate Attorney who has developed a strong interest in sectional-title disputes, community schemes and litigation and who has a sound understanding of the applicable legislative framework.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

LLB degree
Currently serving articles / eligible to serve articles
Meaningful practical exposure to sectional-title law is essential
Exposure to sectional-title litigation and dispute resolution
Sound working knowledge, or demonstrated exposure, to the Sectional Titles Schemes Management Act (STSMA) and its Regulations
Exposure to CSOS matters will be highly advantageous
Strong legal drafting and research abilities
Good understanding of litigation processes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will receive practical exposure to and assist with:

Sectional title, body corporate and trustee disputes
CSOS matters
Levy and arrears-related disputes
Disputes between owners, trustees and/or managing agents
Interpretation and enforcement of management and conduct rules
Applications and other litigation proceedings arising from sectional-title disputes
Drafting pleadings, notices, correspondence and legal opinions
High Court and Magistrates' Court litigation where applicable
Legal research relating to sectional-title legislation
Preparation of legal documents and litigation files
Assisting attorneys with client matters and case preparation
Providing administrative and legal support throughout the litigation process
