POSITION INFO:

A company in Ottery, Cape Town is looking for a Chartered Accountant.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure tasks are completed in accordance with accounting standards.
• Prepares monthly management accounts and reconciliations.
• Adheres to agreed deadlines.
• Assists Financial Manager as needed.
• Supports auditors with year-end audits.
• Remains up to date with latest Income Tax Act changes.
• Supervises integrity of the payroll system, including capturing of payroll, payment of employees and maintaining employee permanent files in line with all legal requirements.
• Completion and submission of statutory returns, including, but not limited to VAT201’s, EMP201’s, EMP501’s, COIDA etc.
• Maintains fixed asset register.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• BCom Honors degree majoring in financial accounting together with SAICA registration.
• Is an independent self-starter who uses their excellent attention to detail and work ethic to deliver OTIF.
• Has a proven track record of at least 2-3 years in a financial accounting/ audit role demonstrating excellent attention to detail.
• Manufacturing experience is A MUST.
• Has strong systems aptitude and ability to think on their feet.
• Has good interpersonal skills that enable them to communicate and work well as part of a team.
• Has strong computer literacy and experience working on financial systems in a financial accounting role (Syspro, Sage).
• Has strong problem solving and decision-making skills together with a “can do” attitude for getting things done.
• Strong leadership potential and ability to challenge accountability in team environment.
• Demonstrates strong accountability and willingness to engage and deliver in line with agreed deadlines.
• Strong leadership potential, demonstrating good self-insight and willingness to grow and learn.
