JOB DESCRIPTION:

A multinational insurance giant is looking for an independent-minded Chief Actuary to join their team in Kenya. This individual needs to have in-depth technical skills and the confidence to interact on board level. This company has been around for over half a century and is part of a listed concern. You will be welcomed into the family valuing integrity, involvement, and innovation. The role will include duties such as:

Governance, Risk and Control
Product development
Pricing
Develop a Service Level Agreement and terms of reference between actuarial and key stakeholders for delivering the requirements of the Actuarial Function
Develop a capital management model and define optimal capital requirements for the company in line with the risk profile of the business being undertaken by the company.
Provide technical product support to ensure development of relevant products that meet market needs and the profitability objective of the company

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelors’ degree in actuarial science, statistics, engineering, mathematics, or any equivalent with a strong emphasis on mathematical proficiency
Masters’ Degree in a Business-related course
Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (15 papers)
Ten years’ experience in the insurance industry five of which must be in senior management in an actuarial function in a reputable organisation
