We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Accountant to join a client’s group of companies and take senior financial responsibility across several subsidiaries.

POSITION INFO:
The successful candidate will act as second-in-command to the Group CFO, overseeing two Financial Managers and driving financial performance, compliance, and integration across entities.

Duties:

The Chief Financial Accountant will oversee the financial management and integration of multiple subsidiaries, including travelling to cities like (JHB/CPT/BOTS/ KZN)

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing financial integration, reporting accuracy, and compliance across all entities.
• Supervising Financial Managers and Bookkeepers within the group.
• Approving and releasing payments, overseeing cash flow, and ensuring cost control and operational efficiency.
• Managing statutory submissions, tax compliance, and asset registers.
• Monitoring revenue, expenses, and job costings against monthly forecasts.
• Leading cost accounting functions, including costing meetings and revenue reviews across South African operations.
• Supporting due diligence and financial analysis for prospective acquisitions.
• Reporting directly to the Group CFO and driving financial discipline across the subsidiaries.

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Matric Bcom
• BCom Honours CTA
• CA(SA) / CIMA Qualified

• 10 - 20 years’ experience in senior finance roles (Financial Manager / CFO / Senior Accountant).
• Proven ability to manage multiple business units and integrate financial systems.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and strategic financial management skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.

• Strong knowledge of accounting, reporting, consolidation, and compliance across multiple entities.
• Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and cash flow optimisation.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor finance teams, driving performance and accountability.
• Commercially minded with the ability to align financial goals with business strategy.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities with attention to detail.
• Experienced in financial system implementation and streamlining operations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with CFOs, MDs, and operational leaders.
• High ethical standards, reliability, and sound judgment in financial matters.
