SUMMARY:
Our client, a respected leader in the property industry with over 70 years of excellence and innovation, is seeking a dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their established executive team. This is a rare opportunity to take on a strategic, client-facing leadership role within a business known for its stability, integrity, and long-standing success. As the financial custodian of the group, you’ll bring your CA(SA) qualification and a minimum of 7 years’ post-articles experience to oversee financial strategy, manage audits, ensure full statutory compliance, and prepare annual financial statements. Experience within the property sector and familiarity with Acumatica will serve you well as you navigate complex portfolios and build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders alike.
POSITION INFO:
As the Chief Financial Officer, your key responsibilities include the following:
Provide strategic leadership to the Finance Department, ensuring sound financial management, governance, and compliance with IFRS for SME’s
Oversee company investments, banking facilities, and cash flow to maximize returns and maintain liquidity
Lead budgeting, forecasting and management reporting processes, providing financial insights to the CEO, Board and the Finance Committee
Manage audit preparation, statutory compliance, and SARS submissions to ensure accurate and timely reporting
Oversee project financing, including liaising with banks, reviewing valuations, and ensuring proper accounting and capitalization of costs
Maintain integrity of the General Ledger, fixed asset registers and life rights schedules through regular reconciliations and control reviews
Act as business owner for the Acumatica ERP system
Drive optimization, data integrity and user adoption across departments
Generate consolidated investment and financial reports
Provide analysis on performance, variances and trends
Lead and mentor the finance team
Ensure robust financial systems, policies, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and support operational excellence
Present quarterly and annual financial results to management and the Board, highlighting risks, opportunities, and strategic recommendations
Skills & Experience:
7 years post-article experience
Proven experience in a financial management position
Proficiency in Acumatica
Qualification:
Registered CA(SA)
