My client, a dynamic and reputable player in the insurance industry, is looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who will oversee all aspects of finance, collections, and shared services. This is a hands-on role that requires someone who is both strategic and operational — a true all-rounder with the ability to strengthen internal controls and deliver measurable results.

You will lead a diverse team of more than 30 professionals across finance, collections, and operations, ensuring cohesion, accountability, and performance. The ideal individual thrives in a fast-paced environment and is driven by transformation, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop a large, multi-functional finance and shared services team (30+ members).
• Drive and manage collections, budgeting, and financial reporting processes.
• Strengthen internal controls, governance, and compliance frameworks.
• Partner with the CEO and executive team to drive financial strategy, performance, and operational efficiency.

• Education: Qualified CA(SA) (non-negotiable).
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years post-articles experience in the insurance or financial services sector.
• Proven track record leading collections functions and shared services teams.
• Experience managing large, diverse teams with varying skill sets.
• Strong technical understanding of IFRS, financial controls, and regulatory compliance.
• Exceptional leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
