Minimum Requirements and details:

• Ÿ  CA(SA) and relevant tertiary education
• Ÿ  10+ years’ working experience in finance with 5+ years’ experience leading a multi-national Finance Team
• Ÿ  Experience working in Africa is mandatory
• Ÿ  Experience with working in a matrix environment
• Ÿ  Experience in professional services (Medical, Oil and Gas, Financial etc)
• Ÿ  Not necessarily an EE vacancy – they want the correct person
• Ÿ  Be familiar with working with big budgets (US20$+ million)
• Ÿ  Exposure to dealing with Customers, Banks, Auditors, Legal Advisors, suppliers
• Ÿ  Advantages: articles completed at a big 4 Audit Firm and ability to speak French and/or Portugues
• Ÿ  Position based in Midrand- occasional travel may be required but not extensive

 Overall purpose of the job:

The CFO Johannesburg Shared Services Centre (“the CFO”) is a key member of the Johannesburg shared services leadership team and is responsible for ensuring accurate client billing, accounting and reporting of financial performance of the Southern African cluster, the African Operations Centre as well as the Johannesburg Shared Services platform. The CFO is responsible for leading the local finance team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Ÿ  Ensure timely and complete monthly and quarterly reporting – for Africa regional reporting as well as local management reporting requirements.
• Ÿ  Manage working capital including Cash, DSO, DPO, AR, AP & WIP – to ensure that working capital targets as communicated are consistently achieved.
• Ÿ  Manage General and Administration expenditure to be consistently in line with communicated targets (budgets and forecasts), and in full compliance with the General Affairs Policy and Procedures (GAPP) of the African region
• Ÿ  Contribute to the preparation of the annual budget and subsequent forecasting activities in compliance with the instructions and communicated timelines.
• Ÿ  Communicate the financial performance and outlook of the respective platforms that are being supported by the shared services team to the respective stakeholders and provide business trends and analytic insights derived from financial data in order to enable stakeholders to make appropriate business decisions.
• Ÿ  Present profitability analyses per product lines, market segments and accounts.
• Ÿ  Simulate and calculate the sales incentive (OTE) for sales members on a quarterly basis.
• Ÿ  Ensure management of tax, audit, banks and leasing arrangements for all legal entities under the scope of responsibility ensuring that legal entities remain in full compliance with all statutory obligations.
• Ÿ  Advise stakeholders on new projects and CAPEX investment, including suitable automation applications to enhance on the efficiency of the local business processes
• Ÿ  Contribute to the active management of the billing function for all stakeholders and ensure timely and accurate weekly reporting. For all legal entities under scope of responsibility ensure that revenue is complete, accurate and valid.
• Ÿ  Contribute to recovery of overdue debtors’ balances through pro-active follow up of those balances that fall outside of the agreed upon credit terms.
• Ÿ  Recruitment, mentoring, training and management of all staff members working in the finance team of the cluster, ensuring that a cohesive and well-motivated team is maintained.
• Ÿ  Any other ad-hoc duties that may be assigned to the CFO from time to time
