Chief Financial Officer

SUMMARY:
The CFO is responsible and accountable for the effective financial leadership and the effective management of Financial Planning and Analysis, Financial Control, Banking and Cash flow Management, Tax and CAPEX Management with due cognisance of the different stakeholder, relevant legislation under which the Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee can make the necessary resolutions/ decisions

POSITION INFO:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Develop and implement relevant financial strategies to support the company''s business strategy/objectives, provides proactive, sound guidance regarding management of assets and investments, and financial trends within the organisation.
• Prepare company''s Annual Financial Statements at the end of every financial year and the interim results for the six month period
• Prepare and submit quarterly reports to the Shareholder within thirty days of the end of each quarter of the financial year to facilitate effective performance monitoring, evaluation and corrective action
• Ensure that effective and appropriate steps are taken to timely collect all moneys due to the Group
• Works with the CEO, company corporate staff, board and employees to develop financial goals and objectives for the organisation
• Active participation in the strategic direction and vision of the company and supporting all initiatives to ensure the achievement of all ambitious targets to improve the company''s profitability
• Ensure compliance with standards of financial reporting, ethical behaviour and corporate governance
• Exercising a senior executive leadership role beyond the confines of the Finance Division
• Compilation of annual capital plans and associated budgets based on evaluations of strategic investment/cost/service performance options, that will achieve the financial, service, technological and human resources objectives of the company, but with due cognisance of the Boards and the Shareholder requirements
• Ensure compliance to financial and accounting policies, programmes and systems
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with third parties
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned

Educational and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor''s degree in accounting, or related field; 
• Masters in accounting or healthcare administration preferred. 
• Minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years health financial management experience
• 10 years in senior strategic management position
• Commercial awareness, Organisational development, management techniques and good business practices
• Knowledge of provider billing practices and understanding of healthcare reimbursement methodologies.
• Job requires the highest level of problem solving. The work requires identifying and resolving very complex problems, such as developing innovative solutions based on extensive cross functional knowledge of the entire organization.
• Risk and Compliance management, relevant statutes, rules and regulations
• Demonstrated ability to operate successfully in a constantly changing, fast paced environment.
• Demonstrated emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills, initiative, self-motivation, practical learning skills, enthusiasm and an ability to complete multiple tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
• Experience in business presentations, meeting management and business correspondence.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Ability to multi-task and solve complex operational issues in healthcare settings.

  Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:

 CA(SA) is an added advantage.
