SUMMARY:
An excellent opportunity for a strategic Finance Executive to join a very innovative and highly relevant black owned business operating in the energy space. The business is transforming South Africa''s energy landscape with cleaner and cheaper energy alternatives.

POSITION INFO:

The Chief Financial Officer will work closely with the CEO and the COO to drive and deliver on the company’s financial strategy. The successful incumbent will be an experienced, strategic and commercially astute finance executive, with well-developed analytical, diagnostic and numeracy skills. With a public listing planned, the Chief Financial Officer will be a highly capable and confident individual with great energy levels, accustomed to operating at the senior level and able to add value across the business. Engaging confidently with colleagues across the organisation, as well as external stakeholders, the candidate will be an organised, measured and calm individual, with the ability to operate in a highly dynamic, fast paced and changing environment. A quick thinker with well-developed decision-making skills and the strategic capability to understand the nuances of the business.

Key experience, skills and qualifications required:

A Chartered Accountant, potentially combined with an MBA
A minimum of 10 years’ post qualification experience, with 5 years’ relevant experience as Head of the finance function of a business of a relevant size and complexity
A proven track record of building and managing a full finance function in a complex and rapidly growing environment
Experience in project finance, joint venture partnerships, mergers and acquisitions and asset management
Strong background in capital expenditure management, cash management and cash flow management
Ability to proactively manage Management Information and to keep the executive and board fully apprised across all crucial financial performance indicators
Ability to manage external service providers including audit partners to the firm
Sounding board for the CEO and executive in strategic and operational financial matters
