SUMMARY:
An established, multi-site business is looking for an accomplished Chief Information Officer to lead an ambitious enterprise-wide digital transformation agenda.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the CIO will be a key member of the executive leadership team and a strategic technology advisor to the business. The mandate is broader than traditional IT leadership: to use technology, data and digital capability to materially improve the way the organisation operates, makes decisions, serves its customers and grows.
The role will lead the organisation's digitisation journey across Artificial Intelligence, Business Intelligence and Data Analytics, E-Commerce, Cloud Technologies, enterprise systems and emerging digital platforms, while ensuring that the underlying IT infrastructure remains secure, reliable and scalable.
POSITION INFO:
The Role The CIO will develop and execute the Group's digital and technology strategy, translating business priorities into practical technology initiatives that deliver measurable commercial value. Key areas of responsibility will include: Lead the enterprise-wide Digital Transformation Strategy and technology roadmap . Identify and prioritise technology investments based on commercial value, operational improvement and return on investment. Develop and implement an enterprise AI strategy , including appropriate governance, information security and responsible adoption. Accelerate the practical application of AI, automation and emerging technologies across the business. Transform Business Intelligence and management reporting , providing meaningful, accurate and increasingly real-time information for better decision-making. Strengthen enterprise data governance, master data, analytics and information management . Lead the development of the organisation's B2B e-commerce and digital customer capabilities . Drive business process digitisation, workflow automation and the transition towards a more paperless operating environment. Oversee the optimisation and continued development of ERP, WMS and other critical enterprise applications and integrations . Provide leadership across cybersecurity, information protection, cloud, infrastructure, networks, disaster recovery and business continuity . Establish strong technology project governance and ensure major initiatives are delivered on time, within budget and against defined business outcomes. Build and lead a high-performing technology team and develop digital capability and adoption throughout the organisation. Partner closely with the CEO, Executive Committee and operational leadership to identify where technology can improve profitability, productivity, customer service and operational efficiency . Experience & Qualifications A relevant degree-level technical qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline. A relevant postgraduate technology or business qualification would be advantageous. 10-12 years' senior IT leadership experience , ideally within a sizeable, complex or multi-site organisation. A proven track record of leading significant digital transformation programmes. Strong experience across enterprise systems, ERP implementation\/development and systems integration . Practical leadership exposure to AI, Business Intelligence, data analytics and reporting . Sound knowledge of enterprise architecture and cloud\/hybrid technology environments . Strong understanding of cybersecurity governance, information protection, disaster recovery and business continuity . Experience leading major technology projects and managing external technology partners and vendors. Strong commercial acumen and the ability to demonstrate the business value and ROI of technology investment . The executive presence and influencing ability to drive organisation-wide technology and behavioural change. Experience within a wholesale, distribution or retail environment would be advantageous, as would exposure to e-commerce, enterprise AI deployment, large-scale systems integration and geographically dispersed operations.
