Shape the Future with Credible Leadership: Chief Operations Officer (COO) – Companies Tribunal, Pretoria

The Companies Tribunal seeks a proven and credible leader to serve as Chief Operations Officer (COO), to oversee
executive, strategic and operational excellence, organisational stability, and strategic oversight.

Purpose of the Role: The COO ensures operational excellence, organisational stability, and strategic oversight.

Key Requirements: • South African Citizen • A Qualification at NQF Level 9 (Required) • PFMA experience is
non-negotiable • Understanding financials is crucial • Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience with at least 5 years at Senior/Executive management level • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams (Finance, HR, ICT, Legal, Communications)

In-depth understanding of: • Companies Act, 71 of 2008 (especially - provisions on the Companies Tribunal’s
jurisdiction) • Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations • King IV Report on Corporate
Governance • Public Sector Regulations and National Treasury frameworks.

Familiarity with: • Dispute resolution, adjudication support, and administrative justice processes • Human
resources and organisational development in the public sector • Strong skills in stakeholder engagement,
governance, and operational management.

Key Responsibilities: • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the Tribunal • Strengthen
organisational capacity, governance, and performance • Build and maintain trust with government, tribunal
members, and stakeholders.

This is a five-year contract opportunity to demonstrate credible leadership at the highest level and shape the
future of the Tribunal.
