About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for concrete, steel, and masonry structures
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, calculations, and technical reports
• Review and coordinate structural designs with other engineering disciplines
• Ensure compliance with relevant design codes, standards, and regulations
• Conduct site inspections, assessments, and construction support
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders
• Assist with mentoring and guiding junior engineers and technologists
• Contribute to project planning, cost control, and delivery schedules
• Maintain accurate engineering records and documentation

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

• BEng (Civil Engineering) or BTech (Civil Engineering) qualification
• Approximately 5 years’ experience in structural engineering
• Civil Engineers about to register with ECSA or recently registered will be preferred
• Solid experience in structural design of reinforced concrete and structural steel
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g. Prokon, ETABS, SAP2000 or similar)
• Competency in AutoCAD and/or BIM software advantageous
• Strong understanding of South African design codes and standards
• Good technical writing and reporting skills
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities
