Civil Estimator

SUMMARY:
We are looking for a highly skilled Civil Estimator to join our team. This role involves preparing accurate cost calculations for civil engineering projects, ensuring financial viability, and supporting project planning and delivery. The successful candidate will have deep knowledge of construction practices, material and labour costs, and project management processes.

POSITION INFO:
Main Duties:

• Study and interpret drawings, designs, and specifications
• Compile precise estimates for labour, materials, and equipment
• Visit sites to collect information and evaluate feasibility
• Work closely with engineers, architects, and project leaders
• Identify potential risks and highlight cost-saving opportunities
• Prepare tenders and proposals using CCS Candy
• Assess subcontractor quotes and support contract negotiations
• Track and update costs throughout project lifecycles

• Matric (Grade 12) and BTech/NDip in Civil Engineering
• 15+ years of experience in cost estimating for medium to large civil projects
• Advanced proficiency in CCS Candy & MS Office
• Knowledge of SABS 1200 & COLTO standards
• Professional registration (SACPCMP/ECSA) advantageous
• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• High attention to accuracy and detail
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Capable of handling multiple priorities under pressure
• Independent yet collaborative team player
• Flexible and able to adapt in a dynamic environment
