Civil Technologist

SUMMARY:
A reputable engineering consultancy is seeking a Registered and experienced Civil Engineer or Technologist to join its civil engineering department in Cape Town. This role is ideal for a technically skilled professional with leadership capabilities and a solid background in civil infrastructure and building services. The ideal candidate will combine strong design expertise with effective communication and project management skills to deliver successful engineering outcomes.

POSITION INFO:
Lead and manage civil engineering projects, ensuring they meet quality standards, budgets, and timelines Provide technical leadership and design oversight using Civil 3D to develop innovative and efficient engineering solutions Mentor junior team members and support their technical and professional growth Independently manage multiple projects under the strategic direction of senior leadership Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and project success Attend site visits and client meetings on a bi-weekly basis as part of project oversight Skills & Experience: Expert-level proficiency in Civil 3D is essential Proven experience leading design phases and managing projects from inception to completion Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with senior management Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a dynamic project environment Willingness to travel for site inspections and client engagements Ability to work independently while upholding high standards of quality and accuracy Valid driver's license; own vehicle would be an advantage Minimum requirements B.Tech \/ B.Eng \/ BSc in Civil Engineering Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, particularly in building services and earthworks Professionally registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer or Professional Technologist Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
