SUMMARY:
Based in the Northern Suburbs of Johannesburg, this industry leader who has been in the insurance game for quite some time, now seeks a Claims Manager to continue the legacy

POSITION INFO:

You’ll be managing a team of 5 & will see yourself utilising your experience for a range of short-term insurance claims. Being the face of the company, this critical role will keep you on your toes at all times, so you’ll need to be up for the challenge. Producing quality monthly reports will also become part & parcel of your contribution

 

The role will see you achieving best practice by reviewing claims files, identifying trends and recommending improvements, ensuring that claims are dealt with according to industry regulations, insurer mandates, SLA and dealing with customer complaints. Ensure efficiency and productivity of the claims department and targets.

 

Minimum requirements:

Essential:

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • RE5 qualification / minimum of 60 FAIS credits
  • At least 5 years’ short-term insurance claims experience (with 2 years’ experience at management / supervisory level)
  • Must be FAIS compliant and have the minimum required (Commercial and personal lines) accreditation
  • Solid MS Office skills
  • Strong command of spoken & written English

 

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Ensure claims are being processed with our SLA
  • Post loss submitted weekly to U/W
  • Communicate changes to policies to U/W (Total loss)
  • Risk Management / Reporting
  • Ensure that all correspondence is being saved on Flexi
  • Standard templates/checklists and communication workflow must be adhered to
  • Diary management of the team
  • Estimate and status management
  • Managing 60-day O/S and fast track claims
  • Maintaining and updating important insurer reports timeously
  • Deal with VIP clients & Brokers
  • Maintain and update salvage and recoveries report & invoicing
  • Monitor and report personnel performance and training needs
  • Deal with client complaints and update complaints register
  • Apply cost saving principals to claims were applicable
  • Prepare claims bordereaux’s and ensure timeous payments
  • Apply TCF principals
  • Daily weekly team meetings to be held – minutes to be submitted after the meeting
  • Ensure that claim validations are being done in accordance with our mandate and the cover provided
  • Training of staff
  • Quarterly staff KPI’s
  • Staff audits and feedback
  • Authorise claims
  • Manage/report on staff workload

  • Weekly:
    • Management reports
    • Team Meetings - minutes
    • Outstanding claims/60 days report – noting current statuses
    • Urgent claims report – status update
    • Risk reporting
    • Salvage & Recoveries
    • Complaint feedback – root cause analysis/training
    • Claims calls feedback
    • Post loss
    • Complaints feedback & update of complaints register
    • Rejected claims
  • Monthly:
    • Post loss/Multi claimant report
    • Insurer reports
  • Quarterly:
    • KPI feedback
    • Internal audit feedback
    • Standard Operating Procedure review

Remuneration & benefits:

  • R ----- CTC (based on experience & qualifications)
  • CTC inclusive of medical aid, unless on a family member or partner’s medical aid. Also inclusive of joining the pension & risk scheme
