Cloud Infrastructure Senior Deployment Expert

SUMMARY:
Our client in the Telco sector is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Senior Deployment Expert on a contract duration of 6 to 12 months. 


Role Purpose
The Cloud Infrastructure Senior Deployment Expert provides independent technical authority over the delivery, installation, configuration, testing, and acceptance of hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) and private cloud platforms deployed on behalf of a client organisation. Operating on the client side not as a vendor employee this role ensures that infrastructure delivered under a framework or project agreement is fully compliant with contracted technical specifications, performs to committed standards, and is genuinely ready for client-operated production use at the conclusion of the acceptance process. The successful candidate will have deep, practitioner-level expertise in VMware vSphere and vSAN, with working knowledge of Nutanix AHV as an alternative hypervisor platform. They will have personally overseen PAC and FAC acceptance processes for large-scale HCI deployments, defined independent performance acceptance thresholds, and managed hypercare periods against contractual SLAs. This is not an advisory role it requires the technical confidence to make binding acceptance decisions and the professional integrity to refuse acceptance when a platform does not meet the contracted specification.

Technical Skills
Platforms & Technologies — Direct practitioner experience required

• Hypervisors: VMware vSphere 7.x / 8.x (required); Nutanix AHV (preferred)
• HCI storage: VMware vSAN (required); Nutanix AOS / distributed storage (preferred)
• Management: VMware vCenter, vSphere Client, SDDC Manager; Nutanix Prism Central
• Networking: Cisco Nexus or equivalent ToR switching; VLAN design, trunking, routing, jumbo frames
• Performance benchmarking: HCIBench, Iometer, FIO, or equivalent storage benchmarking tooling
• Documentation: HLD / LLD authoring or detailed review; configuration report validation
• Security: MFA implementation, RBAC, network segmentation, audit logging for hypervisor and management plane
• Automation: PowerCLI, Ansible, or equivalent for HCI day-2 operations (preferred)

• This role validates and accepts it does not build, operate, or manage commercial vendor relationships. The primary accountability is independent technical quality assurance on the client side: ensuring that what is delivered matches what was contracted, and that the client organisation is genuinely prepared to operate the platform independently after acceptance. Candidates whose primary experience is in vendor-side delivery, cloud application architecture, or managed services operations rather than infrastructure deployment and acceptance are not a fit for this profile.

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent technical discipline
• 12+ years of professional experience in technology infrastructure; 8+ years in HCI or private cloud deployment

• VMware Certified Advanced Professional — Data Center Virtualisation (VCAP-DCV) or VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX)
• Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) or Nutanix Certified Master (NCM)
• Cisco CCNP Data Centre or equivalent networking certification
• PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, or equivalent — as a complement to the technical profile, not a substitute
