Coordinator - Quality Control Inspector/Work Supervisor

Position overview:
· The QC Coordinator shall be responsible for contractor documentation quality control and verification, including reviewing and centrally storing the various RAMS and other relevant site documents.
Qualifications:
· Matric
· Certificate, diploma, bachelor’s degree or any other related qualification in Mechanical/Electrical/ Civil Engineering
· The QC coordinator shall have relevant accreditation, training and experience to fulfil their role
· Minimum working experience of 10 years, of which at least 5 years shall correspond to experience at site execution of works similar to this contract
Skills and Experience:
· Ability to prepare and red mark drawings for the final preparation of As-Built drawing
· Ability to develop Method Statement and Risk Assessments
· Able to report and document internal & external non-conformances
· Prepare, review, compile and discuss engineering reports
· At least 5 years’ experience working in a Solar PV construction site
Responsibilities:
Quality Planning and Strategy:
· Managing a comprehensive Quality Management Plan (QMP) specific to the EPC contract, ensuring alignment with project goals and standards.
· Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure their quality plans are consistent with the overall project quality strategy.
· Promote the issuance of Field Quality Observations (FQOs) within the team to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks.
Compliance with Standards and Regulations:
· Ensure that all construction activities performed by subcontractors comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
· Monitor changes in standards or regulations and ensure subcontractors adjust their processes accordingly.
Inspection and Testing Oversight:
· Oversee and verify that subcontractors conduct appropriate inspections and testing of materials, equipment, and workmanship.
· Compile a daily inspection schedule outlining the inspection activities to be carried out the next day, ensuring all activities are properly planned and communicated.
· Ensure that all approved and signed-off Inspection Reports (IRs) comply with the project requirements and are promptly uploaded to both the internal (PCG) and external (MRP) platforms.
Supplier and Subcontractor Management:
· Monitor and audit the quality performance of all subcontractors, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations.
· Address and resolve any non-conformities or deficiencies identified in the work performed by subcontractors.
Documentation and Reporting:
· Maintain oversight of all quality-related documentation from subcontractors, including inspection reports, test results, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions.
· Consolidate and submit regular quality reports to project stakeholders, highlighting any significant issues or deviations managed at the subcontractor level.
· Address Corrective Action Reports (Car’s) raised by the client, ensuring they are resolved promptly and effectively to avoid project delays.
Non-Conformance and Corrective Actions:
· Identify and document non-conformities in the work of subcontractors, ensuring immediate corrective actions are taken.
· Lead the review of corrective actions implemented by subcontractors and verify their effectiveness through follow-up inspections and testing.
· Expedite the closure of CARs raised by the client to maintain project momentum and client satisfaction.
Continuous Improvement:
· Encourage a culture of continuous improvement among subcontractors by identifying and promoting best practices and lessons learned.
· Lead quality audits and participate in reviews to enhance the quality processes of subcontractors in future projects.
Safety and Risk Management:
· Integrate quality management with the project’s safety and risk management plans, particularly in relation to subcontractor activities.
· Identify and mitigate quality-related risks that could impact safety or project performance, ensuring subcontractors are aligned with these objectives.
Training and Development:
· Provide guidance and training to subcontractors on the project’s quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
· Ensure that subcontractors’ personnel are fully aware of their roles and responsibilities in maintaining quality standards.
Client and Stakeholder Communication:
· Serve as the main point of contact for quality-related issues between the client and subcontractors.
· Communicate and resolve any quality concerns raised by the client, ensuring that subcontractors are responsive to these concerns.
· Oversee PV module testing, ensuring proper alignment between testers and suppliers of testing stands, and that all testing activities meet the project’s quality requirements
