SUMMARY:
I am Looking for a Very Well-Seasoned, with Commercial Mindset, Strong Sales Background, Experienced, KAIZEN Executive Lead Professional to Monitor and Improve Organisational Processes with the aim of making them highly efficient. The role is to enable profitable growth, intensify customer experience and drive a culture of continuous improvement.

POSITION INFO:

This is for a Commercial/Sales Director, a Kaizen-Continuous Improvement Business Systems Lead Position within an Oil & Mining Industry with formal Kaizen Process/Methodologies experience & Business Process Management Software, Engineering/Business Degree, Lean/6 Sigma/Kaizen Certifications & experience, with minimum 10 years Progressive Project Management and minimum 10 years Progressive Business Improvement Leadership. The position could be based in SADC, NWEA OR MENEA (could be based in South Africa or Morocco or Egypt or Dubai or Saudi Arabia).

 

One will be responsible for ongoing Research and Analysis while Mapping Out all Workflows, Remove Waste and Low-Value Activities and recommend solutions.  Guided by Formal Kaizen Methodologies, 6 Sigma & Lean Methodologies, Lead Implementation of Changes, Mentor and Train throughout different areas of the organisation.

 

PURPOSE:

  • Promote, Facilitate & Support the successful implementation of in-house Continuous Improvement Business System Tools and Processes across organisation – MEA Region.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance to the Managing Director and his executive team to achieve organisation’s MEA’s Policy Deployment and Strategic Plan Objectives.
  • Assist the leadership in the development of a Continuous Improvement Business Systems’ Roadmap and Support Execution. 
  • Support driving breakthrough growth initiatives and achieve operational excellence by leveraging Continuous Improvement Business Systems Tools.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyse Business Processes - Analyse existing business processes using various methods such as gap analysis or PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) to find opportunities for improvement as well as losses, troubleshoot further to determine root causes then drive change across the organisation.
  • Develop Strategies - Act as an Internal Consultant, Developing Short- And Long-Term Strategies for the organization and incorporating Six Sigma, Agile, and other practices.  Main goal will be to facilitate progress and reduce costs, both in terms of sales and workflow inefficiencies.
  • Lead Activities – Coordinate and Lead Key Projects for improvement across all levels of the organization.  Supervise several teams directly or collaborate with managers to re-engineer processes.
  • Monitor Progress – Monitor progress in order to check if changes yield desirable results.  Establish Measurable Standards at the start of a project and then compare actual project results against these, regularly generating detailed update reports for management.
  • Provide Mentorship & Training – Serve as coach, coordinate workshops and team trainings, openly sharing guidance and technical expertise and ensuring that learning resources are widely available.

 

Success in this role will entail transforming company’s MEA Region into a lean thinking, conscience organisation with an ability to continuously identify improvement opportunities through:

  • Ø Facilitating MEA Policy Development and Facilitating Meetings with Executive Team.
  • Ø Assisting in achieving company’s MEA’s Policy Deployment and Strategic Plan Objectives.
  • Ø Assisting Leadership in the Development of a Continuous Improvement Business System Roadmap and Support the Execution.
  • Ø Supporting the Leadership Team in understanding and applying the Continuous Improvement Business System Culture, Values and Tools.
  • Ø Leading and facilitating Kaizen Events.
  • Ø Developing Employee Expertise in the area of Continuous Improvement Business System Tools i.e. SW, PSP, DM, 5S, Lean Conversion, TPI, Value Stream Mapping, VRK, and other VBS Lean Tools.
  • Ø Driving Organizational Process Efficiencies and Improvement across all Levels and all Functions of the Business.
  • Ø Working with the department leaders to develop and maintain Kaizen Funnels.
  • Ø Chairing Monthly Kaizen Planning Meetings and Supporting Facilitation of The Strategic Plan.
  • Ø Scheduling, Facilitating and ensuring Productive Kaizen Events.
  • Ø Facilitating Shingijutsu and Presidential Kaizen Events when appropriate.
  • Ø Driving Kaizen Newspaper items toward Completion & Tracking Sustainment.
  • Ø Driving ever-improving results by leveraging Continuous Improvement Business System Tools, consulting skills, and change management process.
  • Ø Directly providing Formal and Informal Continuous Improvement Business System Training and Coaching.
  • Ø Facilitating Continuous Improvement Business System Training sessions when appropriate (other trainers and consultants from Vontier, Shingijutsu, or other).
  • Ø Promoting and Facilitating Diagnosis of Workflow Impediments and other Wastes throughout the Business, and providing expert counsel on appropriate Tools to eliminate them.
  • Ø Improving Continuous Improvement Business System Training and facilitation skills by pursuing certification in inhouse Continuous Improvement Business System Tools.
  • Ø Promoting and Facilitating Employee Development in various Continuous Improvement Business System Tools, Lean Production, and Kaizen Leadership.
  • Ø Supporting consistent execution of the Continuous Improvement Business System On-boarding/Immersion Program, including the Development Of Immersion/On-Boarding Plans for New Hires - Tailored to their Specific Function.
  • Ø Working closely with the Corporate Continuous Improvement Business System Office.
  • Ø Benchmarking and Communicating ‘Best Practices’ and ‘wins’ within the Organisation.
  • Ø Supporting Leadership Team to becoming true Continuous Improvement Business System Champions.

 

Contribute to the Company and the MEA Executive Team by:

  • Ø Protecting the Company’s interests and ensuring that a responsible and dynamic image is presented in all dealings with stakeholders.
  • Ø Acting as a sounding board for the Managing Director and/or Executive Team members on new ideas and issues.
  • Ø Participating in developing and managing the overall strategic direction and performance of the company by actively participating as a member of the Executive Team.
  • Ø Actively participating in ongoing development and refinement of company’s MEA’s strategic direction.
  • Ø Demonstrating a clear and consistent commitment to the company''s vision, purpose and values by exhibiting positive leadership and by displaying the company''s core behaviours in all aspects of performance.
  • Ø Ensuring strong communication lines are in place with Managing Director, Business Unit Manager’s and the Executive Team regarding business development initiatives, thereby ensuring an overall view is maintained and strategy is consistent.
  • Ø Ensuring all Continuous Improvement Business System activities are aligned to the respective business strategy through coaching, training and developing key internal and external partners.
  • Ø Improving existing processes, products, services and systems through relentless incremental improvement, including the continuous improvement initiatives required by the plan.
  • Ø Developing and maintaining effective, collaborative relationships across areas, especially ensuring effective collaboration with support and technical staff.

 

Ensuring that the MEA Region Demonstrates a consistent approach in the implementation and delivery of Continuous Improvement Business System.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Engineering Degree or Business Degree or Post Graduate Diploma (MBA) in related discipline.
  • Certifications in Six Sigma.
  • Certification in Transactional Lean
  • Certification in Accelerated Root Cause

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 10 years Progressive Project Management Experience in the Continuous Improvement Business Systems Function.
  • Minimum 10 years Progressive Continuous Improvement Business Systems Experience.
  • Knowledge and Hands-On Experience in Business System Principles in Technical and Office Functions.
  • Proven experience in Developing, Inspiring & Motivation of others.
  • Proven experience in Technical Project Execution & Management.
  • Commercial Mindset/Acumen and experience, Sales & Commercial expertise/background.
  • Extensive Business Growth Leadership experience & expertise.
  • Extensive Revenue Generation experience & abilities.
