SUMMARY:
Are you a meticulous Legal Secretary with a passion for litigation?

A reputable law firm based in the heart of Cape Town CBD is looking for a Litigation Secretary to join their dynamic commercial litigation department. This is a fast-paced legal environment requiring super-fast typing skills.

Experience with Caselines, Court Online and Lexpro is preferred.

POSITION INFO:
REQUIREMENTS

Matric, and related tertiary qualifications beneficial (Legal Secretarial N4 – N6 or a related Diploma)
Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in general litigation processes and protocols
Experience working with court and online systems (Caselines/Court Online)
Lexpro Bookkeeping System experience is highly beneficial
Full proficiency and ability to utilise and operate all suites of Microsoft Office
Strong communication skills (Written and Verbal)
Diplomatic and professional when dealing with clients, service providers and staff
Conscientious with a strong focus on quality and attention to detail
Meticulous and organized – able to plan and multi-task
Able to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Able to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure

DUTIES

Provide secretarial and administrative support to Attorneys in the commercial/litigation department
Preparation, formatting and compilation of pleadings, affidavits, memoranda, correspondences and bills of costs
Organising files and updating correspondence
Updating reports, enrolling matters for hearing and briefing counsel
Diarising matters/files
Opening of files and debiting of fees on bookkeeping system
Schedule and set up appointments, client meetings and virtual meetings, court hearings or appearances

Salary negotiable dependent on experience
