Commercial Manager

POSITION INFO:

Commercial Management

Manage all commercial aspects of existing contracts.

Review and negotiate contract amendments and variations.

Manage contract escalations, including fuel and cost increases.

Develop pricing models for new and existing contracts.

Build and maintain cost models for equipment and operational activities.

Evaluate profitability of projects and contract opportunities.

Assist with financial forecasting and budgeting.

Contracts Management

Manage client contracts from award through completion.

Ensure contractual compliance.

Review contractual risks and obligations.

Coordinate with legal and commercial stakeholders where required.

Support tender submissions and contract negotiations.

Business Development

Identify and pursue new business opportunities.

Build and maintain a pipeline of leads.

Conduct client visits and relationship management activities.

Monitor tender portals, public notices, and industry opportunities.

Develop strategic relationships with mining and industrial clients.

Support marketing initiatives and industry events.

Tendering and Estimating

Review tender opportunities.

Develop technical and commercial proposals.

Compile pricing schedules and cost estimates.

Work with quantity surveyors and technical specialists during bid preparation.

Evaluate operational requirements and project feasibility.

Project and Site Establishment

Conduct project startup activities.

Perform site assessments and site visits.

Liaise with clients before mobilisation.

Coordinate project implementation and operational readiness.

Ensure resources, equipment, and personnel are in place before project commencement.

Site Management Oversight

Provide oversight of site operations.

Support site managers with operational requirements.

Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and client requirements.

Monitor contract performance and service delivery.

Assist with workforce planning and operational improvements.

Requirements

Degree or Diploma qualification.

Contract Management qualification advantageous.

Experience

8–10 years'' experience in mining, materials handling, bulk earthworks, or contract mining.

Proven experience in commercial and contract management.

Experience in pricing, tendering, and cost modelling.

Experience managing client relationships within the mining sector.

Exposure to site operations and project mobilisation.

Technical Skills

Commercial modelling and pricing.

Strong understanding of mining equipment and operational costs.
