SUMMARY:
Join this national automotive manufacturing company, a division of a listed group, and manage the Commercial functions for the Business Unit.

POSITION INFO:

You are a skilled communicator and negotiator and can bring your business acumen to any situation.  Collaborate with the GM in formulating and driving the Commercial strategy and support decisions in this new role, while drawing on your financial acumen.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • CIMA / B.Com (Hons) or similar.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a Factory Finance/Commercial role.

Key Performance Areas:

Reporting into the General Manager your role is broad and covers:

  • Commercial Strategy:
    • Participate in the formulation and implementation of the BU commercial strategy.
  • Commercial:
    • Participate in negotiations with customers and suppliers in order to achieve the agreed strategy;
    • Manage key customer and supplier relationships.
  • Costing:
    • Prepare and review detailed product costing analysis for all new parts;
    • Analyse all current parts and make recommendations for the financial recovery on distressed parts;
    • Calculate and propose potential price increases;
    • Lead all negotiations with customers regarding part pricing and requested increases;
    • Lead all negotiations with major raw material vendors regarding part pricing and requested increases;
    • Review DA 190 (Declaration of Imported Components and Raw Materials);
    • Review government grant applications.
  • Forex:
    • Reduce Forex risk with suppliers and customers;
    • Review Forex Forecasts.
  • Tooling:
    • Review tooling account.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Provide analysis and support to management and all commercial areas of the business.
  • Budgets:
    • Review and prepare sales and commercial budgets for the BU budget presentation pack;
    • Present the commercial budget to Divisional Executives.
  • Forecasts:
    • Review all forecasts.
  • Financial Pack:
    • Review the monthly Business Unit financial pack and identify commercial variances.
  • Flash Results:
    • Review the Divisional Flash Results and action commercial variances.
  • Capex
    • Analyse and review the BU/Plant Capex reports and project plans;
    • Review project appraisals and valuations.
  • Weekly Sales Report:
    • Review and compile weekly Sales Reports and manage sales margins.
  • Internal Control:
    • Participate in regular updates of the Risk Register;
    • Manage and comply with internal controls.
